Does anyone have any knowledge of treating this on the face? Murph often gets a bit in summer...mainly on his legs (he never gets mud fever in winter though! It may not exactly be rain scald but thats what the vet likened it to and these oozy scabs are identical to the ones they saw on him) - this year he's had a bit on his quarters, but now has several patches on his face. I treat normally with savlon and sudocrem but the sudocrem has removed most of his facial hair on one side. He looks a right sight and today, despite popping a gel cover over cheekpieces, his metal bits on nosepiece have rubbed on the bald skin i feel so guilty, he'll have to have a week or so off i think till some hair comes back me thinks. I think i'm in control of it...no puss/new scabs for a few days but any ideas if it does come back/general hair growth tips? My vet suggested current routine when he first started with it a few years ago on mainly his legs.

I would have suggested what you're doing already. The other thing you coulduse on bridle/headcollar is those fleecy noseband covers. He may end up wearing half a sheep but it would stop friction. Poor Murph
