The French take sport very seriously and the regional assemblies try hard to mark achievement in most spheres. But we didn't know that our département was running its own championship: much to her surprise, the teenager has come third in the département's complet challenge (points accumulated over the year) and came home with a lovely plaque, rosette and pink (!) saddlecloth.
She's particularly thrilled as complet (ODE) is not naturally Jana's thing.

Well done. To think you were so torn as to whether she should have the opportunity or not.

Well I'm sitting her glued to the computer waiting for the Bac results to go online and find out whether she' got it or not - to say it's nail-biting is the understatement - I am having palpitations!!! So, in theory, the teenager will take a gap year now and pass her instructor's exams as it's something she is passionate about. After that .... who knows? She is very interested in equine osteopathy but we'll see how today pans out .....
