So today I long reined him again, clever boy settled straight into it like an old pro- was very impressed! I decided to take him round the garden so we left the arena (no problems stopping and waiting whilst I opened the gate ) passed the stables entrance with no napping and into the garden, heloved this finding it really interesting as we skirted the football nets, circled the tree house with only a minor pause and went through the scary gap, between the silver birch and leylandii which was in shadow and I was amazed he went through with only a mild nap! Brimming with confidence I decided to back him, so called oh and went into the arena. He was a bit scared of the mounting block but OH kept a firm hold on a lead rein as I carefully climbed on board. With lots of patting and pony nuts we did several circuits of the arena with some very good walk, halt, walk transitions. Built up to oh just walking on a long lead rein just behind his shoulder with no problems. What a star! Let him loose for a well deserved roll and then back for a small feed!

Ceej im terrible with pics but will sort something. I paid £180. He is my long term companion for Basil but I may consider a suitable loan at some point as long as I have others here, mainly for a good rider to continue his education, he is so bright he would excel at anything as long as he is taught right, cause the bright ones can be the trickiest if not! I could hack and do the basic schooling but couldnt expect him to carry me doing games or jumping etc!
