Just been out for about an hour on my gorgeous Faithypony and she's been fabulous .
Been around the XC course, into the woods via the bluebell-lined track, into the other woods (with a little persuasion), over a fallen tree, through a stream, up the hill, past some people shooting ina field, round the top track, back down the hill, through another stream, along the side of the field, through a big puddle and then back up the first field and home.
Faithy was brilliant. Not been in those woods in over a year and although she was a bit on her toes, she behaved impeccably and I was grinning from ear to ear the whole way round . Sang our favourite 'calm' songs whener she got a bit antsy and she calmed right down from the very first note - gotta love that pony of mine .
Had a few short trots while we were out (she's been telling me for a little while now that she's up for more than just walking), almost felt brave enough to try a cheeky canter but decided against it as she's not quite fit enough just yet. Also had a bit of an experience...as we were trotting, well, jogging, down a slight incline, Faith decided to put her nose to the ground and eat grass!! We almost parted company!!! I went straight forward, slipped out of my saddle and ended up sat on her neck!!!! Good job she's a kind old soul and as she felt me slip she stopped dead, lifted her neck and let me shuffle back into position before moving off again. Bless her. I was in fits of giggles for a good 5 minutes after that 'incident' because as we rode on Faith kept on looking back at me and snorting/laughing at me because I almost fell off . She's such a comedian!
Got back in one piece and feeling very proud of my little ponio. Just wanted to share
