Finally managed to slim Pete a tad and now they are moving fields. It's really lush where they are moving to. Barney needs it Pete doesn't only answer is a muzzle I suppose?

It's such a struggle on a yard isn't it?! If we had our own land then I think Faith would be muzzle-less and strip-grazed instead, but as I can't do that, she's muzzled. Seems happy enough though and it's certainly been doing its job! Ever since she's been wearing it she's lost almost 1/5th of her previous body weight!!!!
I think if you introduce the muzzle properly and teach the horse how to graze with it on then you'll not have any problems. Faith has never *touch wood* tried to take hers off so I can only assume she's alright in it.

Mine hated muzzles and both found they could wriggle out of the greenguard, even with the proper headcollar on and despite numerous attempts at fitting it (following the instructions and improvising). Murph just ran around with the bucket type on. As i said in your other post...is fencing some off an option? Restricted grazing works best for me.

Haffy - I think Faith would be strip-grazed if I had control over the field, but unfortuantely I don't, hence the muzzle. She seems happy enough in it and is keeping a nice weight (actually still losing a bit now she's walking/riding a bit more) so she's obviously eating enough through it.
Hope you find a solution Sol. I completely understand how complicated this gets!!!
