I have just had a brilliant schooling session with Brave, in hail and gale force winds which have shut the Forth Road Bridge to high sided vehicles.
Brave was prancing as dancing in the wind before I got on, but as soon as I was in the saddle he went all soft and listened. A couple of times when we were side on to the wind and a gust caught us he had to step sideways to maintain balance, and I am sure I heard a tree come crashing down in the forest above us in one gust as well (that's how windy it is), we were even working without stirrups...
Got to say I love that Ginger pony!

Faith is always at her best in the bad weather too...take her out on a perfectly still, beautifully sunny day and she will be a spooky joggy bolting lunatic, but take her out in snow storm or in gale force winds and she is absolutely fantastic!!! It almost makes me wish we had more bad weather . Good to hear Brave is living up to his name

Blimey, take my hat off to you! I was going to ride, saw a dark cloud scudding towards us at a vast rate so decided to have a bath instead! It was really quite mad weather though. Made up for it today with a decent session- only 20 mins but watching how much I do due to his fitness. He doesnt like my mounting block though, three upturned supermarket crates and a rubber mat!(every little helps!)
Brave is a really great horse I have to say!
