Is what riding our horses feels like at the moment. They are out all the time, grass still good, weather warm. We are seriously lacking enthusiasm which doesn't help! They are so lazy and slow. Could barely get Pete into a canter today. The ground is still a bit hard so no bad thing but it's a shame when the weather is so nice and we are not making the most. Any tips?

How fit are they? What sort of condition are they in weightwise? I suspect it's one of those things where the more they do the easier it gets, some horses don't appreciate the heat very much though.

I know what you mean Hazel's a bit like that at the moment too but I don't mind I'm quite happy just to mooch around. I quite like not having to worry that she's going to kick up her heels and tank off with me!

^^^ that may explain the sluggishness then Sol Faith's a bit reluctant at the mo too. I think there's a lot more to her reasons than just being hot and sticky though, but until I figure out what's up then we'll just keep plodding along.
