Zara has inspired this thread, who has done them. Where and how were they? I have ridden on a beach in Wales once would love to take Pete to the beach but haven't got round to it yet. Flippin no transport is such a pain.

When I was a kid we used to go to Hunstanton a lot on holiday. I used to go and help give pony rides and in return got to ride the ponies to and from the beach. Used to love it, cantering along. I did go a couple of times in Wales as well. It's just fab. Would love to take Ed but with no transport I'm a bit stuck. Hiring would just cost too much.

Many years ago (about 10 or 12) I did a couple of beach rides in the south pacific, Raratonga, and then again on the gold coast in Australia, swimming the horses in the sea.
There are a couple of great beaches near me (1hr away) but for some reason never quite made it... maybe this summer if I can find a baby sitter.

Went to the beach with old RS at one of their pony camps, rode one of the RS ponies, had a paddle in the sea and canters along the beach - great fun! Took Connie to the beach a week or so before we had to get her pts - we had to walk through a nature reserve type thing with loads of sand dunes before we got onto the beach - had a paddle in the sea and a wee ride round - really nice wee day
