I haven't ridden with my buddy since last Sunday, and unusually for us I haven't seen her since Monday. So we set off for a nice hack and a catch up.I am so lucky having a hacking buddy who also helps me so much with my horse. Of we went planning about an hour's hack in the lovely forest. First giggle was trying to negotiate a corridor of holly bushes at the trot, Barney thought it was funny to try and canter! Next was a lovely canter down a grassy track. I went first which makes barney even more lively. Those boys are definitely in competition with each other! We then walked quietly to the stream, Barney had a paddle and Pete had a big drink, you could here him gulping! Then we had another speedy but controlled canter back up through the trees, lovely. I was able to kick Pete on and really enjoy the acceleration. On the way home then and the boys were still full of running! Barney decided it would be a good idea to instigate another canter without being asked! We were soon back in control though thanks to our gag snaffles. Just made us laugh. A nice energetic walk home, boys sweaty but happy looking forward to tomorrows fun ;D
