Finally rode!

Finally managed to get out this afternoon...it did snow yesterday but fortunatly ( ) chucked it down all night so it all dissapeared again.

Nothing to report as bar me reversing down the lane rather hastily at the entrance to the next field up and having to dismount to get past, ( there was a huge pile of snow/ice still in the entrance and it was apparantly uber scarey!) they were models of good behaviour.

I think they are too unfit to even contemplate being silly after their prelonged holiday Still a bit icy in places and very muddy everywhere else but we had a nice walk around common and hopefully will manage it again tomorrow...roll on spring

Must say it felt good to be back onboard!

Oh good on you, I saddled up yesterday, it took me four or five attempts to get on and then we were off, cantering in circles for fifteen mins as he was that hyper, the wind whipped up and some stinging rain hit us and he went beserk, so we cantered for another five mins by which time I was lathered! I got off with my legs shaking and let him loose in the covered school to roll and relax. I cant get there today or tomorrow so Tuesday will be a repeat, its just not fun at the moment.... I hate winter! grump grump!

Lucky you, I haven't been out since November. It will be like learning to ride again when I go back as I will be so unfit! Hopefully, my boys will be as well behaved as yours but past experience would say otherwise. Must be lovely to be out and about again.

We had our first proper ride yesterday. Despit the wetaher being OK for a couple of weeks now I've just not had the time to go further than round the block. Met S yesterday and we tried out an old ride where they have re-surfaced the bridleway so your shoes don't get sucked off by mud anymore!
Came back very sweaty but happy - Eddie seemed to really enjoy being out again and after a bit of jogging just kept pace nicely with Huffy and strode out.
