Have found another advantage to pregnancy aside from the ability to queue jump and be garunteed a seat on the train Took Chompy put for a hack yesterday and because the roads are still icy it was mainly in walk, I've always had a problem with my legs creeping forward and opening my pelvis enough for them to hang down correctly and wrap around, especially on a wide horse like Chomps... despite my instructor showing me in just about every lesson by physically putting my legs where they are supposed to be... well during the hack they just went there naturally and suddenly I had a lightbulb moment go off in my head of "Aha! thats it!" and for the first time ever I could feel and understand what was meant be the description of 'hugging your horse up into trot' Obviously all the hormones that loosen off the pelvis are starting to work and I can for the 1st time ever properly wrap my legs around my horse... if I can keep riding and practicing the feel for the next month, hopefully I will be able to retain it afterwards.

My seat has definitely altered since having a kid, not entirely sure its for the better though as sometimes I now have a tendency to tip my pelvis forwards. Its frustrating as it took me years to establish a seat and now Im re-balancing. I think its great that it appears to be working for you the other way round and it is opening up your seat, mind you you may regret all this riding when it comes to labour- tell your midwife to get the nets out- your muscles will be so strong you will fire the baby out!
