;D I don't mean to rub it in to all the poor snow bound members but thought you might like to hear about a lovely hack Mr Pete and I enjoyed today. Needed a favour from Yo so in exchange for catching and grooming her pony, she'd put ours to bed tonight. So we then had just enough time to go out. Her pony, Lucy hadn't been ridden for six days, snow etc. So was fresh to put it mildly, she is part TB and very fit. Pete was good 'ole Pete calm as ever and was a good influence on her. We set off and planned a trot round the woods as ground going to be frozen solid and ice puddles too. A bit of skipping from Lucy along the road to get to the woods, a funny moment when they both spooked massively at a pile of snow . YO had to tap Pete's bum with her whip to get him to go past then hers followed- teamwork! We got to the woods and the sandy bits which are normally always nice underfoot sounded like we were walking on concrete! So hard. We got to near the top a steep hill and had them trot up it twice you can go round in a loop. They were waking up a bit then. We walked round to the other side where there is a very clay -ey bit normally really too stodgy to canter on. That had become a perfect surface for a canter, so we went up sedately at first making sure there were no nasty surprises underfoot. then turned that bit into a loop and went up it again like mad things! So much fun, Pete loved it anf was a sweat ball at the end! Blew away all the cobwebs, best fun ever.
