Sorry this has probably been done before. Ed needs a second no fill turnout and I seem to be struggling to find one which is totally waterproof. She has a Masta which is OK but does get a little damp in really heavy rain. YO just bought a new Masta which leaked through in yesterdays weather. J had a Rhinegold which leaks! I tried on YO's Amigo but its too narrow at the front. Sancys Mark Todd leaked. You can see a common theme here!
Are there any no fills which are totally dry in really horrid rain? I don't mind spending a bit for a decent one but can't really stretch to the likes of a Rambo. Or happy to go second hand.

To be honest I prefer Derbyhouse's own rugs. Their cut seems to fit Faith like a glove and they are suprisingly waterproof! Not really had much of a chance in torrential-type rain but in rather heavy rain that lasts for hours they've faired pretty well so far . Another bonus has been that mine have all been under £30 a piece! no bad, eh?! I'd also highly recommend these people (http://www.ruggles-horse-rugs.co.uk/2010/viewsubgroup.php?gid=4&mid=1/Neck_Covers) - they are lovely people, really good service, and they have some fantastic neck covers...and again, they're cheap! Also post super fast - last time we ordered something from them we ordered it on thursday morning and it was on my doormat by friday morning .

Weatherbeetas fit my friends cob. Mark Todd too but they come up small so she gets a size bigger.

Brave has a rhinegold no fill turnout which stands up to all but the most torrential rain, never been a big fan of the brand but this rug seems to work well. he also had a lightweight weatherbeeta and HW rambo (both of which he inherited from Fig) and also work well

Fi does your Rhinegold have any velcro at the front? My friends is one of the Spotty Pony rugs and it doesn't have any velcro to hold the front together which means the chest ends up gaping open!

I too am a PE convert - unfortunately their lightweights are a bit pricey at the moment and can't find any second hand ones. They usually have their rug sale soon so may pick one up then but ideally need it sooner. Sadly my gorgeous Winter Buster which was Sancy's is too big for Ed. I can't bring myself to sell it just yet though. Might just have to put it on my bed as it's soooo toasty!

Hmm just seen their 40g fill isn't too badly priced though. Maybe that could be a compromise....

Scatty - no it doesn't have any velcro at the front and does often have a 1" gap where it has parted. one reason why I'm not a fan of the brand... I use it as a spring-Autumn rain sheet.

Brig, do you find the Premier equine rugs come up a bit small? Pete has a sweat rug which is 6'3'' normally he is a 6'.

Hope you find a good cheap one Scatty - I don't know the premier equine range but they seem to have good recommendations here. The rambo's don't leak ever no matter how bad the weather is and I have noticed that time and time over the years - mine live out and the weather here can be horrendous. But they are so pricey. They do last well but I don't know if they are worth it. If you find the perfect cheap rug - please let us all know

lol scatty Harry needs a new lightweight so i'm hoping PE will pop theres on sale soon!
I know filling is chaep and your paying for the outer but I don't mind paying for a middle/heavyweight but when lightweights are £50 plus I always feel cheated!
Edited to say I ahve noticed weatherbeeta have brought out a new budget branded rug genero (or on those lines) has w'beeta badges but not seen one in flesh so not sure how they size....wondered if they are cheaper as skimp on material depth like they do with the saxons?
