I went out on another hack yesterday ;D We were meant to go at 10 but the delightful electrical contractors dug up the entrance to put a new cable duct in so we didn't get out til 11. No problem as the rain had stopped by then. Spent the time filling haynets to help out a bit.
I rode JS this time who is super cob. Love him lots! He hates the school and will spend half his time kicking at the fence but loves hacking - the faster the better. A rode T, my friends new horse. (He is being ridden by the instructors at the moment as he keeps throwing his toys out and, at times, has been quite dangerous on the road.) We got to the farm just by the bridleways and he threw a real strop, running backwards, mini rears and spins, the works but A rode him through it and off we went again. First canter along the top track, down the hill, another canter into the woods with all the foals in the field joining in. Then we galloped up the hill through the woods, cantered on the flat and the opened up into a gallop again. I don't think I have smilled so much for ages ;D ;D After that we walked back along the road, no trotting as the ankle decided enough was enough . T had another strop half way back but at least he didn't try to run backwards into any cars that time. I had to slide off carefully again when we got back but the pain is so worth it! My shoulders and back are hurting today though. Ah well I've booked another for Tuesday so will soon have those muscles working again.
