Had my second lesson today with a BHSI. Wow, Pete went well. Considering it was tipping it down with rain and I got saturated. Started off working on keeping him in an outline, I have to be really strict- going into the rain was was good 'cos he kept tucking his nose in! Then we worked on walk trot walk transitions. They were much better than last week. Then we tried free walk, not so good. Last thing we worked on was giving and retaking reins. Started off just giving one rein, Pete was brilliant. He was tired by the end and so was I. Our canter work wasn't great, i have to get him going forward more which seems terribly fast to get him using his 'engine'. We are getting somewhere tho', so pleased with my boy. He also did two massive spooks while I rode which I normally would have freaked out about, Cheryl was really helpful with my fear issues and although she has a bit of a reputation for being a bully she said how well we were doing. So chuffed! ;D ;D ;D

sounds like it is going really well, I wonder if she has a repuation as a bully because she pushes people, and if you like being pushed and that way of teaching as you obviously do or you wouldn't be having lessons then you probably will click.
I also think instructors like and appreciate and can tell when you have been doing your homework too i.e. practicing between lessons,
