Hi, i have my work experiance coming up this week, and i am sooo nervous I'm working at a riding centre, in Blackburn. i went the other day to have a look round, and although everyone seems lovely they've all got little groups of friends, so i know i am going to be on my own. i'm working this afternoon, wednesday, thursday, friday and saturday 7:30am - 5:30pm - so its a long day, and i really don't want to be on my own - as stupid as it sounds... really nervous, but looking forward to it at the same time...any advice? i'll give you an update when i get back, thankyouu Lily xxxx

You'll be fine. Smile and be friendly and you will make friends in no tim. Good luck.

Just concentrate on the horses, smile, say hello to people, be polite and well mannered and ask if you dont know how to do something or which horse is which or which bridle is which etc etc. There will usually be a friendly person about that you can stick with! Or perhaps they will assign you a mentor. Good luck and have fun

On my original work experience I just walked in with a smile on my face, cracked a few jokes and then got on with my work. i found people approached me. You will probably find that you are put with someone to help you on your first couple of days. Just enjoy it!

Thanks guys, it was good - went at 12, and had lunch till half 1 - then got shown aroun and groomed one of the horses, then went muck spreading, filled haynets, water buckets etc - theres two boys my age who've gone off together, but i dont mind anymore. theres' some college people doing there NVQ's on wednesday, so they were really nice, and asked me to help them revise. im not in tommorrow, and wednesday is exam day for everyone so im not expecting to do much. thursay we're going on a trip to a dressage clinic - which should be good ;D friday will just be a normal day and saturday is riding lesson day so it will be busy ;D loving it so far, though my arms are aching ;D thankyou Lily xxxx
