Zara is currently very very hormonal, its equal parts funny and frustrating. It's pretty much 2 months to the day that she finished her last season and if she has been pregnant her pups would be due right about now.
Over the last couple of days she has gone from her happy normal self to one that cant let you out of her sight without whining, and has to come and whine at our bedroom door at least 4 times a night ( but I will not give in and let her sleep in our room).
She is now dragging/carrying her fox toy around the house with her, cuddling it and occasionally washing it, then realises its a toy and not a pup she goes back to chewing it. She then curls up with it on the kitchen sofa and growls if you lean over and stroke her. she knows full well she is not allowed to growl at me and as soon as I send her to her bed she is very contrite.
Bless her she is quite confused as her maternal instinct is obviously kicking in, in full force and she kind of knows what to do but is missing one important ingredient... PUPPIES!
We are planning to have a litter later this year and I am busy finding a stud dog for her at the moment, which is why she isn't spayed.

Bless her! Poor love has had a phantom pregnancy possibly and like you say- she should now be a mum, did she show any other signs- swollen nipples etc or is it all in her mind?

Brig - It's all in her mind, no physical signs at all, and the change in behaviour had us flumoxed for a couple of days, thinking she was poorly- but she wasn't showing any physical signs of being ill either.
Then we remembered she was like this (though not quite this bad) for about a week or two, two months after her last season as well.
