Right...you're sure your songs are in your itunes library and not just somewhere else on your computer? If yes, then have you copied them a all into a playlist and told your itunes to only sync the ticked/checked songs in that playlist? If yes, have you told the computer to automatically sync your ipod when its plugged in? If yes, then plug in your cable, attach to your ipod, wait a sec for your comp to recognise your ipod, and then watch it sync your songs onto your ipod THEN, once its done, tell the computer to eject your ipod, wait for it to do so, then unplug, stick your earphones in and play away!!!! If you have any problems, let me know and I'll talk you through it

right...hang on...I'll open my itunes an do it at the same time as you ... ok, so itunes is open, yes? Right then, plug your ipod in and wait for your computer to recognise it (it should come up in itunes that your ipod is connected). Has it done that?

and its not doing anything, just sitting there looking at you? (it doesn't say "syncing ipod - do not remove" or something similar across the top of the page near the play/stop/pause buttons?)

right, ok.
So if you look down the left hand side of your screen, you have a grey panel, yes? It should have categories/areas that say "Library", "Store", "Devices" etc
Does the "devices" area thing say that your ipod is connected? (mine is called "cassie's ipod" so it shows me a picture of my ipod and has "cassie's ipod" next to it)

click on your ipod in the "devices" bit - it should come up with a screen that shows your ipod's name at the top, tell you what version your ipod/itunes is, and then at the bottom have a section called "options" that has a few tick boxes...got it?
