Decided to make the most of the lighter mornings while they last and took Katie out for an early ride this morning. We set off at 6.30 am and all was beautifully peaceful. Just me, Katie and a couple of joggers - oh and the nice noisy Peterborough to Kings Cross train passing every 5 minutes!! In between the rumble of train wheels we enjoyed the early birdsong and watched the squirrels gathering food and branches. Soo cute, and sooo funny to watch. One came running out the grass and I swear it nearly hopped up over Katie - chose to go under her instead! I counted 27 of them!!! I must take my camera down at the weekend.

Sounds lovely...Jade would like to know if she can come visit you as squiggle chasing is her main occupation!
Hasn't it been a beautiful day for hacking today...it's like summer again here!

Duckles it's just light by then - I'm lucky because Katies yard turns straight on to bridleway. Haffy Jade would love it - though she wouldn't know which way to run - there was so many.

Oh and I forgot to mention, we did the whole ride on a loose rein. No spooking, no spinning and no jogging on the way home. Was so pleased with her. She was a bit of a madam Saturday when we went the other way to normal but today she was perfect. Even her owner says she seems to have chilled a lot since I've been riding her. I think she's enjoying getting out.

The clocks changed at weekend Flea The lighter mornings are great but I hate dark nights!
