I had a great hack today, went down wee country roads at walk and a little trot and then into a stubble field I've never been in an open space / massive field with any horse so I was really nervous. I have to say though the girls I was with were brilliant and really took things at my pace. We done a gentle trot up the full of one field and this led into another field. Murphy was very strong and the girls have suggested I get a Martingale to prevent him lifting his head so high. I think he was just so excited but I did have difficulty holding him at times. We each took turns to do a lap (I went last, after trying to get out of it ;D) and although Murphy was eager, I felt I held him well and he came back when I asked him too, so thats given me some confidence for again. He has a lovely canter - a bit like a rocking chair, he's just so comfortable. Some went on for more cantering but I wanted to stop on a high and me and another girl walked for home. I'm definitely on a high - so chuffed I done it but I'd never have done it without a little push - I'm a bit like that, I don't take many chances ;D I still have a smile on my face - it was great!!!
