Not entirely sure where to put this! Well today we took Scoobie to the local kennels "fun dog show". We entered him for best rescue dog and we didn't get placed unfortuantely but the judge said she liked him and gave us some advice for his sometimes iffy tummy so that was good and he did come home with a rosette We then entered him in the handomest dog and there were 31 dogs in the class! The judge wasn't a greyhound fan so no rosette for that but there were several comments on how lovely he was, but the judge choice rules. We then entered "best biscuit catcher" and we came joint first!! He just wasn't interested and it was too windy so we called it a draw. Because we won a class we were entered into the best in show which we didn't win again but nevermind.
He also had a go at agility which he didn't think much of but he gave it a go none the less and completed an a frame he wasn't exactly fond of. So proud of him, not bad for a lazy greyhound!
I'm so proud of my boy, his behaviour was impeccable, he won something and hopefully we raised lots of money for the rescue dogs. Already planning our next dog show. I love my doggy.

Well done - sounds a great day and I like the idea of a class for best biscuit catcher. Bet my dog could rival Scoobie for his rosette in that one

lol I have one who could put up some serious competition too! And if their was a sausage eating contest..... she's be in heaven (and no one would stand a chance) Reminds me when OH spilt (as only men could ) the whole packet of little bone biscuits all over floor whilst opening them. I nearly wet myself and couldn't help as I was bent double with laughter but Jade had been begging for one hence him opening the box (just home from asda!) well as they dropped for a split second she just stared and if she could speak I'm sure it would ahve been O M G then it was like hungary hippos as she dived in scoffing as many as she could whilst OH frantically tried to grab/shuffle them into a big pile away from her. You can guess whose score was highest Sounds like a you had a fun day out. We need a picture of scoobie and his rosette

Well done, sounds like a really fun day. My riding school had a dog show in july for the local animal sanctuary and raised lots of money too.

Scoobie really was awesome. He also learnt "paw" today! He's not very intelligent and its only took nearly 10 months of 10 minutes everday to learn! The biscuits where special hypo allogenic (sp) ones that he caught and then promptly spat back out! Didn't think much to them! Agility was so funny, the first tunnl was slightly to small for him to be happy with, so cue me crawling through the tunnel to coax him through, he suddenly deciding he was coming through and me trying to reverse out as quickly as i could! He didn't like the A frame but he did go over and shot down the other side! He trid and what more can i ask for? He's 29inchs high so his balance isn't amazing and he gave it his best shot!

You have inspired me Mossh If it's not raining and we have no more leg mishaps (had a dash to vets yesterday when she burst a stitch on a rusty fence!) we are taking Jade to moorgreen (sp) show for the sausage catching contest either Sun/Mon!

Wahey! Sausages are a lot more appetising then dry biscuits! I think the person holding the sausages is going to be mobbed

I love dogs. Scoobie was absolutely marvelous. How lucky we are to be able to have dogs and horses and whatever manner of pets we end up with.
