Parents. I work my a4se off, always make the effort - I do the visiting, the ringing, the running around, the smoothing over when things go wrong - I get used as a solicitor when it suits and get accused of being a smart a4se when it doesnt. Im always fricking dependable, thats me. Yet I STILL seem to get it in the neck (probably because Mum is a drinker so all is morbid then 'woe is me and all that foul smelling poopy). Then I for some reason I end up feeling guilty. IT SUCKS and Im grown up enough for it not to anymore.

I have mine staying with me this weekend. I could strangle her already. Poor you, Ceej. Try not to feel guilty, you're being manipulated and it's not fair. I know it's easier said than done though.

You're having a bit of a rough time at the moment, aren't you? Try not to feel guilty and come on here and let off steam. The world would be a sorry place without dependable people like you. Huge hug ((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((())))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) and a mountain of chocolate.

I dont have parents too but my sister............... Grrrrrr! she can make me feel guilty all right but as soon as I realised it was her way of making herself feel better (twisted but true) it ceased to wind me up so much, and now she cant get a rise out of me she isnt as bothered anymore! We choose our friends not our family.

Ceej- I am sorry you are having a tough time at moment (well probably for years if your mum is alcoholic) but its the people we love (even we don't feel it !) who get to us the most. The 'dependable' thing struck a cord with me - I am that as well and my family (and friends sometimes) do use me a bit and it can get to me but at the end of the day, I wouldn't want to be unreliable. Just let your phone run out of battery. Pack a nice lunch and spend all of tomorrow riding and pottering around the yard and I hope you don't meet any emmets. Let Harry and Willow do the destressing
