He is a really quick healer! I will clean up a cut one day and not be able to find it after a day or two, he's super human! (or horse haha)
Well, the vet ......
can i refuse to pay as i wasn't given any sort of diagnosis?! She came up saw he walked near enough sound, dug about a bit more till she found the end of the crack (not finding any pus or abscess and the poultice hasn't done anything other than incubate his thrush! not since the tiny leak he had wed morning) then she was like right well poultice for a few more days and call me if you need me! Thats it! OK I'm glad he is on the mend and it was nothing serious but it is so frustrating that there was no definitive problem, She presumes its just because of the crack. There was no mention of after care, what i should do after the poultice comes off how to try avoid "it" happening again, nothing!
I think it may have been fate saying Lauren shouldn't have taken him to XC (yes i am mad enough to believe that haha)

Oooh I missed all that drama....glad he is on the mend.
Willow suffers from lami (very mild as I am a stickler with him) but the first sign I get from his is the ever so tottery walk and I try to turn him and he is reluctant to cross his front legs over - I find that shows up quicker than his digital pulse.
perhaps we should have a laminitis section in the FAQs as it comes up so often and Jo's explanation of DP was very good...woudl you mind copying it and pasting it Jo?

the vet called me to see how he was doing this morning. I said fine, and asked what she thought i should do when the poutice/nappy comes off. she said just to make sure it was clean and pack with keratex to no infection gets in. He is sound now some once the poultice is off he can go back into gentle work. YAY ;D

I used to put a dry dressing on Warrior's hoof & then pop a hoof boot on him once all the pus had gone. Had to keep his hoof clean & dry while it was hardening up.
