I'd keep them home too. We (me & OH) were saying only yesterday that they should close the schools now. The younger ones are just waiting for sports day and the older ones just hanging around after exams over - so what's th edeal with keeping them at school?
I know three people now whose kids or spouses have had it. bay, you said one child was being tested. They're not even doing that here any more. If you have flu symptoms it's just treated as swine flu.

I can't believe your schools are still opened!!! Ours have been closed for ages! Still- dead right to keep them home if they are in danger of being infected- much better to be out enjoying what good weather they can.

they are only closed because we have our summer break earlier than you guys not due to swine flu.
I see an americain tourist died in Inverness hospital today- bit close home for my liking- have a sore throat and feel ugh but am sure its normal summer cold- plus I have no desire to go rooting in a field nor have I grown a curly tail!

A lot of our schools closed down as normal on Friday. I'm not sure if there are any still open (different boroughs have slightly different dates) but I didn't see the point in keeping them open. My friends children have been mixing with a child at school who was diagnosed on Friday with swine flu. Lord knows how many kids have been infected by being in contact with her. It must surely have been better for all if they had closed a couple of weeks earlier. Especially as it is a junior school and they wouldn't have missed much.

We had a few cases in my school - but it was hardly an epidemic. My OH had it and he was better in 5 days (without Tamiflu) and only really poorly for 2 days - but no more so than 'normal' flu. I'm hoping my teacher's immune system will keep me safe!!!

tbf, i think swine flu has been really hyped up by the media and the chances are that isolation or no isolation then everyone is going to get it, we have had a few cases at work and a couple of suspected cases but swine flu is an airbourne illness, mac dees is still open for business even though there is hundreds of people cme in everyday that could possibky have swine flu or be carrying the illness and that is before during and after the internal cases that we have had.

It really has taken over i mean that poor little girl died cause they said it was swine flu without checking her and she had menigitus (sp) I felt really sorry for her and her parents. They shouldnt automatically think that every little thing is swine flu!
