Hi everyone, was wondering if anyone has experience of this in any neddies. My friends horse who i really don't think is very well, gets a small patch on her right shoulder. Could be there in the morning and sometimes evening, nowhere else on her body, weird or what? Her mane is also visibly thinning and although she is being fed loads, still is very ribby and lethargic? The vet comes again next week to do more tests. Any ideas, I am expecting the worst but my friend is still trying to stay positive. She is the same one who collapsed outside her stable last month she went down 3 times altogether poor girl.

Bless her. I'm afraid I can't help at all with this. Hopefully the vet will be able to shed some light on things and get the correct treatment. Fingers crossed for her.
Edited to add - could your friend get the vet sooner? I'd be really concerned if it was one of mine. Especially if she's losing weight quickly.

patchy sweating is a symptom of grass sickness as are muscle tremmors, but I assume she is still passing manure etc and eating, if she is then I doubt if it is grass sickness as they stop eating, don't have any gut sounds and dont pass anything either.
But I am also 100% totally paranoid about the disease...

Eating well and passing normal faeces, not drinking excessively or sweating up at all. I am worried too! Vet doesn't seem so, i helped her change appointment to next week from 10th July! Will let you know how we get on.
