I have to cos savvy hates dry food (eg molichop or mix) she likes it really sloppy for some reason and won't touch it unless it's saturated. We do wet the others feeds but thats more so they don't choke on the dry food

Patricks weight gain mix is soaked anyway and he has sugarbeet which I tend to make quite sloppy so it wets the feed. Allen & Page (and probably other feed manufacturers) actually advise adding water to the feed so it's no bad thing. Though I'm sure that if a horse is healthy and has good teeth theres nowt wrong with serving dry either.

Mattie has it damp because he prefers it, he has good teeth don't get me wrong, but he somtimes forgets to chew because he is a moron! He's usually on calm and condition for a couple of months at the start of winter to hlp build him on and this is soaked so makes his feed wet, in the spring he just has a splash, but occasionally gets some juice added in if he won't eat it, spoilt brat

we also use sugarbeet which helps dampen it, i always think chaff looks quite dry to eat alone!?
