Mattie is now very very foot sore! We were schooling last night, shorenting and lengthing the strides in walk/trot/canter and getting it more up (we certainly had UP!!) but he stood on a stone and nearly went down but he scrambled up and was hopping in the trot, couldn't put any weight on it. So cue emergency dismount (getting good at those) all his tack was literally thrown on the floor and straight to the hose to be hosed down. 15 minutes later and a small improvement so was taken back to the field for field rest for a couple of days. He only trotted off near enough sound! the git. Today he was sore but sound so it got a bit better. So at best hes stood on a stone and is now very sore, which sems very likely bcause the school is sh!t atm and I certainly won't be riding in it in the near furture. The worst case doesn't bare thinking about. He does it on purpose, I swear, everytime we start getting somewhere, something goes wrong with him or me! Would be nice to go to a show!!

Bless him. Sounds like he's bruised his sole. He's a tb isn't he? If he's anything like my Doof he'll be a wimp with his feet. Doof only needs to stand on uneven ground to go 'ow'! And yep she used to be good at that sort of thing - you could guarantee the day before a show she would pull a shoe or come in lame. Then miraculously the following day be remarkably sound again!!

I think he'll be fine, has probably bruised his sole, I'm hoping thats what is is, but he is a massive wimp anyway!! Nearly gave me a heart attack when he went down though! i was like "not bloody again MATTHEW!" Great timing of him though. I'm going to give him till tomorrow and trot him up properly and then see how it goes and hopfully bring him back into work slowly, so walking for a couple of days, then trotting for a couple and then cantering and then introduce jumping a fw days after that. Thats my plan anyway

I was holding my friends TB mare while she was being shod on Friday, I had to move her for the nailing on process and my God did she hobble walking without shoes! I had no idea their feet could be so sensitive.
