Well, it does sound as though he is try to avoid the mounting bit, but if the back lady has just been it could also just be a bit of naughtiness.
I offer this thought: when I had the osteo out to Paco, he said I should not ride him for at least nine days. Three days were to be off, resting, followed by three days gentle lunging, followed by three days lunging with a gogue.

Yes, when the back person came out to Princess and the other RS horses they were to have a few days off and then a gentle hack at the weekend and then start slowly back into normal riding.
Is he usually good at standing to get on? Its strange that he should be worse after the back person be out. Sometimes things that are supposed to make them better seem to end out with a negative outcome and then you wonder if youre better off leaving them alone, lol! I come to this conclusion after getting Kieran wormed and his teeth checked he has not been right since and it has been one thing after another since the start of May - although im not convinced the worming and teeth check are linked to his illnesses....

I don't think I am any sort of expert but I have had a lot of experience ( that I could do without) in the back/pelvis line. If the pelvis is out of alignment (rotated) it can cause back pain. But problems in other areas ie the hocks can also cause back troubles as can the wrong saddle or injuries caused in field or stable. You can usually tell if the pelvis is out by uncharacteristic behaviour ie refusing jumps, dragging the leg, unwillingness to go forward, inability to strike off on one leg in canter etc etc. Actually, you can tell from appearance or feel as well but this may take a while. These symptoms I listed can also be because of back pain, try feeling along his spine, does he flinch or drop? Does he shift when you go to put the saddle on? Is he uncomfortable with you grooming? I have to agree that showing an unwillingness to be ridden such as not going to mounting block or moving/spinning when you get on are often symptoms of back or other pain. However, I had a horse who used to move off as I went to get on and there wasn't a thing wrong with him but he was very 'dominant' and once our relationship was sorted, he stood completely still. Again, Peter's previous owner may have thudded down into the saddle or encouraged him to move immediately and both of these things could give the results that you are experiencing. I don't think that him being forward on your hack in necessarily a sign or pain, in fact it could be a sign that he is feeling well in himself after his treatment. But perhaps you felt it was not that sort of forwardness, more an unbalanced rushing as if away from pain? If you are at all worried about him, arrange for the back lady to come back and try and be there when she examines him so that you can discuss your concerns with her. The one thing I have learnt over the years is that it is better to be safe than sorry and horses always have a reason for behaving as they do (even if not a very good reason!) In my experience I usually have to walk in hand or long rein and then hack in walk for a while after any treatments.
Sorry above is so long, hope is of some help

Duckles said it all really, but just one thing to add...what did the back lady do? Did she do any sort of treatment? If so then he could just be feeling a little bruised - I highly recommend Arnica for bruising - it really is brilliant stuff
