Have been wondering if Kieran is too fat - or getting there anyway. Weighed him tonight and he is 443kg. He has definetley got fatter since we got him - he used to be 423 or something the first time I weighed him. Anyway, what do you think? He is going out 24/7 now on a strip graze paddock and thats all the food he is getting. Before now he had a full haynet of hay at night and then before that a full net of haylage, plus out during the day on his strip graze paddock. This is really all the 'gutter' he has, along his spine seems to be fine. other side crest in the sunlight, his spine looks bonier i think

See it's really hard with photos because in the first one I'd have said yes he's overweight but then the rest of them he just looks 'well conditioned' He looks as though he's got a bit of a crest on him which usually suggests excess weight - though Myric nearly always has one regardless of how fat he is (though to be fair he is usually fat!!) But Kieran also looks quite short necked which will make it look thicker. I wouldn't have said you want him any bigger, but I don't think he's way over what he should be. In the 4th one down he looks really good.

i would agree with scatty. dont let him put any more on and if you can then maybe help him shift a few pounds.
*wanders off wondering whether horses can have lipo*

He looks ok at the mo but just be careful he doesnt get any fatter. If you have to stable hi for part of the day/night its better than him getting too overweight.

Jen if you find the answer to that is yes, let me know - I have a mare who is living off fresh air and is still fat!
