....running!! I said I never would but its easy (well ish) free and I can slot it in anytime. well there is a forest beside us so have a certain way to go so I can mark any improvement (if there is any ) and today was the 3rd time and I almost ran all of it!! its very hilly but i ran all but the steepest hill which I sort of jog/walked . One of the boys in the office says it will get easier and I will love it but so far it hurts like hell I look like a fat lumbering idiot about to expire and I almost threw up tonight! I have to do something though as since max went I have noticed my well covered thighs are wobbling more each day and with 1 working hunter show and 2 ridden horse to judge over the next 2 months I need to be fitter to ride the bigger horses ( The pony classes can do a show ) will be fighting fit in no time

i used to run, then we realised that that was what was setting off the asthma so much!!!! i really enjoyed it though and i really wish i could do it again without half dying (and you think im joking?!?!?!?!?) as i got a real sense of acheivement out of it! its all definately worth the initial pain at the beginning!!

I take my hat off to you Maxi!
I've always found running the most frustrating thing in the world, but I used to force myself. Now I'm thinking of taking up skipping - it uses the same amount of calories. But just as boring ......

oh believe me its not for pleasure - I feel like i would rather pull teeth than go before it, I feel sick and knackered during it and sore and stiff after it!!
Today I went out and got proper running trainers -asics- as one of the boys in my current crop of probies is a man who runs 50 miles a week and he said the old crap trainers I have will slow me down and cos me to hurt more - not my huge butt and muscles thighs then!

I used to run a bit and kinda got into it, but I reached a four mile stage where I never got better or further so gave it up, but you are right to do something to keep active now you arent riding so much. When I stopped I piled the weight and lardy wobbly bits on and now theyre stuck like glue!

I don't do it now but used to run three or four times a week and did a few 10k fun runs, not that much fun but brilliant sense of achievement afterwards. I am going hill climbing in two weeks time, that should burn off a few choccie bars. Good luck in keeping going the hardest part of every run is going through the door, once you are out there you're on your way.

Go girl! Pushing a wheel barrow up and down the hill is about my limit at mo! Less injuries with proper foot wear.

Go Maxi! I love running but I find I can only run on a really bad mood otherwise I feel half-dead by the time I reach the end of the road...and I can totally vouch for the extra wobbly bits appearing after stopping riding (I really hope Faith is rideable soon, or atleast long-reinable, so I can have some motivation to send these wobbly bits back to where they came from!!!!!)
