I am shocked! (hence title lol)
I've finally found a use for my old treeless saddle - the one that's never going near another horse as long as we both shall live...it's now a saddle-seat/chair and it's soooooo comfy! I've plonked it on my big squishy chair in my uni room, propped it up with pillows and am currently sat on it, feet in stirrups, and honestly my back has never felt so good when sat infront of a computer! Because I'm obviously in a riding position, my heels, hips and elbows are just about in alignment, my back is straight but relaxed and my stomach muscles are also relaxed yet working with my back to support my upright postion. My shoulders are just as they would be when riding (i.e. sliding over one another but relaxed) and the feeling is awesome!
BUT the reason I am shocked is not because of the saddle-chair, but its because I can see just how out of line the saddle is! No wonder it b*ggered up Faith's back like it did !! The front panels are a good 1cm out of line - the left one is atleast 1cm further forward than the right one and the padding feels all uneven (easily remedied with more pillows ) but its no wonder Faith drifted when ridden...I always thought she did that becasue of a) me sitting wonky or b) her pelvis but it seems that it was the saddle that did all of that all by itself!!!!
I am so shocked to see just how bad it is! I feel so bad for putting it on my precious girly's back and exepcting her to let me ride in it It's safe to say its never going near another horse's back for as long as we both shall live (the saddle and myself lol). It's only job in life now is to be used as a new computer chair to save my back and to subconciously improve my riding postiion
I may need to take pictures just to show you all...
*wonders why she STILL can't spell...after all this time you'd think I'd learn to use the spellchecker!!*
