Glad he's seeming better but I too would contact the company. I know it won't help your boy but it could help a lot of other people.
Is the simple system mentioned the Jane van someone (arab breeder/endurance rider) stuff?

I already spoke to the feed company - they said to continue with the feed as its obviously not that!
He's worse again but nothing has changed so spoke to vet - wants to come out and do blood tests and see him ridden. So that means I've got to try to get my wow fitted on him when is is in obvious discomfort!
this is hell it really is

Saddle and vet came today. He was actually fine being ridden, but tried to kill vet! Vet has taken blood but thinks it is a neurological disorder so we are being referred to a neurologist - probably at newmarket. Prognosis probably not good
Very unhappy :-(

Zoon- that is so awful- especially on the day your saddle fitter came. I really hope vet finds that its something easily fixed. Please keep us updated. I can understand how dispondant you are but it might be something that can be quickly remedied even though so unusual. A friend of mine had a horse which completely stumped her vet and eventually was sent to vet hospital and turned out the condition wasn't so bad at all. Anyway, best of luck x

Vet is being very vague. Degenerative neurological conditions would normally cause a decrease in movement which we have no problems with - he happily floated down the school in extended trot and still does a mean half pass - in Zoons case the nerves seem to be in "overdrive". The fact that the muscle twitches (have I mentioned that? not sure - he has developed muscle movements similar to if you or I were to attach a slendertone thingy on full whack over his hind quarters that pulse incredibly strongly in time with his movement) are completely regular and symmetrical suggest no damage to individual nerves and suggest a central cause - i.e. the brain. I think Pete is setting me up for the idea of a tumour or similar here. Had a good cry the last few days and have come to terms with the fact that I may lose my horse.

Zoon, I too resigned myself to losing my horse earlier this year and the problem turned out to be treatable. He's doing fine now and I hope the same happens for you both.

Bloomin AHT have changed appointment to the 15th! I'm really peed off. Also need at least £570 to pay for transport and livery that insurance won't cover And the woman on reception that I spoke to was really bottomy with me - when infact it was me that had to change all her plans and is now not able to go to the vet with her horse because she can't get than day off work and had to super sweet talk transporter to change date and not lose her deposit. Crap

yep, very much so. I really hope this "super vet" (bloody better be for the amount it's costing) can tell me what's wrong with him. Even if it cannot be fixed I need an answer because it's driving me mad and it's getting dangerous to handle him at times. If they cannot come up with and answer I think the only option is to have him pts as he can be so unpredictable when you are around his withers. When the vet was with him in the round pen having a look at his reactions to certain areas being touched he was rearing and broncing and really trying to hurt him and I can't risk that.
Oddly today we were walking down the death track (path to field is so slippy with mud!) and I slipped and just grabbed him to keep my balance. Obviously his withers are massive so that's what i grabbed! He was fine and carried on pootling down the track. It seems to be when you are consiously thinking about him twitching that he does and when you just do something out of habit he doesn't. Like when I had to ride him for the vet I held his withers to dismount (massive 16.3 horse and little 5'2 rider - I need to lower myself down!) and he didn't bat an eyelid.
Nightmare!

nope, nothing to suggest he is in actual pain. Muscle is all soft and supple, no change in how he moves (infact he is moving very well at the mo as he's been moved closer to the mares field so is showing off) response to touch is very inconsistant and there appears to be no focal point to his extreme reactions. One thing that has not been done is xrays - since there is no focus to the problem we don't know what to xray! I'd quite like these done but assume they'll do them at the AHT. I am convinced that the chiropracter has done something to him - this all started after she treated him for the second time with her funny TENS machine thingy and I have a funny feeling it will be due to that - trapped nerve or something. But vets disagree. Seem to be going along the neurodegenerative disorder/tumour lines as far as I can guess - Pete is being vague so as not to worry me I think

if you were refering to the massive withers remark I made - he just has massive withers and I think my obviously was in the wrong palce - obvious that they were what I grabbed as they are large, not obvious that they are massive! The only pic I have to hand where you can see his withers is this one with the vet at Newmarket (spend my life there! But this time he was beign useful and beign a lovely demo horse for a cardiology course due to his extra loud murmur!)
