right before actual gcse exams (bout 2 weeks) we were called kinto S1 the main assembly hall - just yr 11's, all the other years swere together and told that someone had died, we all assumed that it was dr hudson the head as he had bowel cancer (he died about 6 months later) but it was jamies name that was said, about 30seconds later the whole room was in tears, lads and teachers included(!) teachers comforting pupils, pupils comforting teachers friends with friends and so on. no yr 11s were expected to be in lessons that afternoon and we just wandered around the svhool in our special groups in tears as we may not have been friends with jamie but he was such a great guy and everybody knew him for one reason or another. at his memorial service in school one of the songs they played was hero and it makes everybody cry that was in yr 11 whenevr they heard it.
