Sun Joke (from the brilliant, Yes Prime Minister): Jim Hacker (Prime Minister): “Don’t tell me about the press. I know exactly who reads the papers: - The Daily Mirror is read by people who think they run the country; - The Guardian is read by people who think they ought to run the country; - The Times is read by people who actually do run the country; - The Daily Mail is read by the wives of the people who run the country; - The Financial Times is read by people who own the country; - The Morning Star is read by people who think the country ought to be run by another country; - And the Daily Telegraph is read by people who think it is.” Sir Humphrey: “Prime Minister, what about the people who read the Sun ?” Bernard Woolley: “Sun readers don’t care who runs the country, as long as she’s got big tits.” Also, the good thing about the Sun, is the readers can't write in to complain ;D www.theregister.co.uk/2008/09/05/lhc_to_leave_fabric_of_spacetime_continuum_unripped/So there (Blatantly stolen from another forum ) ;D

Nope, nothing has happened. I'm still here...wish I could have been there though, I bet it was really interesting to be involved in anything to do with particle accelerators...*blushes as she realises she's just admitted liking physics*

Yup Black hole currently being created deep in swiss alps and due to turn us to goo in approx four years time! Unless it all goes terribly wrong and we get a big bang tomorrow! Bless the scientists for their whacky experiments!
Stephen Hawking says it wont happen so Im not too concerned!

Not sure, but apparently when they switch on the "Large Hadron Collider" in Switzerland it might cause a black hole. Or a time traveller to appear. OH, who is a physicist, says that he thinks it more likely that an alien could appear, but it could be so small that nobody would notice. Not sure if he is taking the p*** here. However, we are still here and the thing has been switched on for a while now. Wonder if getting sucked into a black hole would be more interesting that watching the rain teeming down for yet another day...

Well, a black hole opened over my house last night and a whole ocean feel through it! Huge thunder and lightening and really teeming rain. Not so good for my neighbour's eco-festival .....

The machine has been switched on but they are NOT due to colide protons until october. Black holes will be created (they hope) but are so small it wont be an issue. One of my friends works on the project and he assures me the world will not end, nor will time travelers appear or aliens or dinosaurs or anything else of interest to use mortals. Shame
