so far today our web page has been picked to piecesover really petty details perhaps you could look at it and tell me what it is that so awful and if it really is so bad that you wouldnt stay there in a miillion years even if it was free www.labastidette.iowners.net/secondly , someone has been complaining about how my horses are neglected , ok 3 of them are not fat, but freddric did loose alot of wieght when he had the abcess and it takes longer to put back on then to lose it, river has a huge grass belly but no top line , he just needs working , flash is 27 years old, it has been extremly hot , they are in 25 acres of grass, plus a round bale of hay , they also have mineral and salt blocks in the field

who on earth has been picking at it? what losers! I think it looks lovely
As for neglected horses, the only people who say things like that are people who don't have a clue hun.
try not to take it personally some people are just rude and don't think about how hard the people running places like this work. bigs hugs

Your web site is great, very detailed and informative. Whilst constructive criticism is useful, some people have nothing better to do than complain. Stuff them.

I love your website.
As for neglect, soemone once reported our horses to the RSPCA - they had loads of grass, hay, water and were fed, but Mully (TB) was 22 and had lost weight over the winter (bless him he didnt see another) - they also complained that our horses had no water. They obviously didnt go just inside the gate behind the hedge to see a bath tub fulll of the stuff - had it really not occurred to them that in a mssive field that maybe they just couldnt see the trough? Unbelievable.
the RSPCA man turned up at our door and said, well the big brown mare is a bit thin - mum said, do you mean the bay gelding? (we didnt have any mares) then she told him to piss off and come back when he knew at least how to sex a horse. It was upsetting though - all the other horses looked perfectly weighted....
just ignore.

Hey Kate These are my thoughts on your website and are meant constructively: I found it very easy to navigate, but: 1) there are a couple of minor things I would change on the home page: reword fishing to fish; and add in after the sentace about wine ... as much as you care to try 2) the page where the bookings are - I couldn't see the different colours for the prices of different weeks, also I found it difficult to see which weeks had been booked without straining my eyes, think of doing it for an 80yr old to see. 3) the map page meant nothing to me, could you show Tolouse on it? or perhaps the place where you can windsurf etc or some tourist attractions, that king of thing.
I hope this helps, as for the comments on your horses, ignore them or maybe put a fact sheet on each of them with a bit about their history etc and what you do with them, then for the ignoramuses out there you can say that Flash is 27 years old and enjoying living out the last years of his life in 25 acres of grass having worked hard all his life after doing whatever it was he did for his career.
If they have a stream to play in you could wax lyrical about how they enjoy snoozing in the shade and playing in the stream, that way people who don't know anything about horses wont jump to the wrong conclusions,
You could have it in a folder in the gite with a title "meet the neighbours" or something like that.

Oh an the other ting I would do is have the big scale map to show where in the country it was in realtion to a big well know town suh as Tolouse, then a much more detailed street level map showing exactly where it is in the village with a "how to find us" section giving step by step directions from the main road.
You could also have on the street map local restuarants, pony club etc.
Sorry getting carried away here, but it does look professional and these are only ideas which I have no idea how much it would cost to produce.

I think your website is great but agree with Fimg about map (being fairly ignorant of France!) Ignore the other horrible people - they are begrudgers who come out of their holes everytime some one tries to do something.

As far as the map is concerned, you can zoom out on it and see where the place is in relation to as much of France as you wish.

The website looks professional and informative. The place is delightful. Perhaps some of those picking it over are the types to stay in very commercial tourst areas rather than the real France!
As for the horses - ignore it. If they're not horsey, then they won't know that muscle wastage and lack of condition can be mistaken for weight loss by the uninitiated!.

my neighbors down the front have three thoroughbreds and now they have been put out to rest they have lost a bit of weight the people across the road complained and said they were not being feed, but they were it's just their diet had changed and they had some muscle wast edge, I hate how people make their own assumptions by what they see with out looking at the BIG picture first
