Stubbs and Whistlejacket Exhibition

Hi all,

Just wanted to draw attention to the fact that York Art Gallery has a Stubbs exhibition on untill the 31st of August. If you get the chance to go, you definatly should. I went today and was in awe of his most famous painting 'Whistlejacket'. He has done the most amazing drawings of horses, starting with the skeleton front and back, going on to muscles ect. i went to the toulouse le trec museum a couple of years back and was really suprised to see he started off as a specialist horse artist , some of his early work is amazing really like a photo almost

i know, i couldnt believe alot of it! He dissected horse carcasses to learn how the horses body worked together and how muscles lay over bone ect. His work is phenominal (sp).
