Caico dropped all her hair one year, it turned out she had a vitamin D overdose. It was in everything she was eating. Might not be your horses problem, but maybe worth a look.

hi all, havent had the results yet,
i seem to off stopped the itching, however there are new little patches appering, it doesnt look like hes itching them, more like the hair is falling off, in some areas, i think layer of skin comes off to,
i did stop feeding him for 5 days, then started the feed again sunday night, so far ive noticed no difference.
we had had a lot of rain recentley,. i wonder if that is playing a part... thinking back to winter it was when it was cold or wet he itched...
will post the results as soon as i get them

It sounds terrible for you and your horse. Its been nearly amonth now since the vet came. Have you found anything out. Sorry if I have missed a new thread on this.X

Re the food.... I wouldnt expect to see any change in 5 days of not feeding -it would take longer to see any noticeable improvement - like three weeks or so...

Yes, allergies can take minutes sometimes to appear and a month to subside. Hope all's well, would be very interested to see an update.
