I had the best weekend for ages and so had to share:
Saturday
Woke up early with the sun shining and birds singing so decided to take Chompy on a hack and headed off down a 9 mile circluar route with the intention of turning around and returning home before I had to cross a main road. Well he was just so good we ended up riding around the whole loop wit only one big spook (which was justified as I jumped too) when a clydesdale who had been sleeping behind a hedge decided to stand up and see who was clip clopping down his road, once Chompy had realised that it was a horse and not not a hedge with a head growing out of it we carried on, the poor lad was knackered as we haven't been that far in wll over a year.
the off to T in the Park saw We are Scientists, had a mad time in the ceiledh tent, a few beers in the hospitality area, was disapointed by the Kooks and loved the fratellies.
Sunday
Got up and took Chompy down to the school he was going really well so decided to stop before he got his knickers in a twist about something. I jumped off to put the poles that I had been using away (he usuall just stands where you leave him or at worst wanders to the edge of the arena for a bite of grass, as I was putting pole 3 of 4 away he gave me a cheeky look and started trotting off home (in order to get out he has to go away from home 1st around the arena up a drive before onto the lane home. he was 100yds up the road before he decided to stop and have a bite and let me catch him. Fortunately its very quiet so no traffic.
So back down to the arena to finishing putting everything away and do another 5 minutes work so he learns that is not acceptable behaviour, even a couple of months ago he would have given me some attiude about going back to the arena but all he did was a "do I have to?" before getting his head back into the job again.
When I turned them out Dexter decided to show me how well he was feeling by galloping around the field 5 times (I will post some pictures)
Then back to T in the park for the Goo Goo Dolls, Amy Winehouse, Kings of Leon, REM and more of their hospitality area we spent far to much time in the hospitality bit but it was so nice to have clean toilets, a clean place to sit and do a bit of people watching while trying to work out if there was anyone famous in there.
