my hubbie is a hard working dairy herd manager of 4oo organic dairy cows, we have been in this paticular job for 9yrs but now his 2nd man is poo stirring and making life difficult with the boss so hubby being the sweet bloke he is has been milking twice a day to increase the cows performance (1.45am till 6pm) and letting 2nd man take a easy life as he has had 2 ops in 2 yrs! Tonight the boss and 2nd man has decided to let the cows graze in and out all day my hubbies field he pays to keep his aeroplane in! The 2nd man then sneers at hubbie 'oh it might stop your flying'...............this is just nasty as hubbie can only fly in the summer and now it's limited even more. He is sooooooooo fed up he is threatening to leave this place but kids are settled ect. I love this place but hate the thought of hubbie sooo unhappy. Txx

*hugs for you and hubby*
Can he not have a word with the boss about this 2nd guy's behaviour? That is a far too long a day for your hubby and for you and the kids not seeing him. Does he belong to a union or anything that he can get advice from?

They're both taking advantage - big time. Your hubby shouldn't be carrying 2nd man, even if he has had ops. It's up to the boss to get another assistant if 2nd is not up to full duties. I bet your hubby is not getting paid any extra! If they are going to use that field, he should'nt have to pay for it. It's like that where I work - those who do the work get put upon and those that don't get an easy life and anything they want. Phew! Got me going there, but I know how you feel (((hugs))). Maybe a call to ACAS for advice?

Your poor OH. No one should have to put up with that. It would be worth getting some advice as I am sure there is some legislation about the maximun number of hours worked. (I could be wrong though). Big hug and a karma for you.

OMG what horrible people. I definately think you should seek advice on that. and something needs to be said to the farmer. don't forget he probly wants your OH to stay cos he works so hard! so he may do somthing about the situation. bug hugs from my way too (((((((((((((((((squeeze))))))))))))))))))))

BIG HUGS. Have been there done that with farm politics. How about going on holiday even if you do not actually go anywhere? Ivan then gives boss a BIG list of do's and don'ts that 2nd bloke has to follow(list given and explained to boss beforehand) Hopefully (although I know dairymen get attached to their girls) there will be a drop in yield or a mass break out in mastitis.2nd bloke might not find it so easy to walk a mile in Ivans shoes. Also might be worthwhile to point out to boss that he needs at least one RELIABLE dairyman and it might not do too well to piss the only good one he has off. Hope it all sorts itself out. Other bloke obviously jealous of Ivans achievements.

Thanks guys! really appreciate the support! Ivan agreed to milk until our holiday booked in August! We have had several different lithuanian chaps that have really buggered the tbc and cell counts plus were damm horrid to the cows! He decided to milk rather than get another idiot in so he could get the cows back on track which he has done! But in doing this he is in the parlour all day so dosen't get to know what's going on outside along with decisions being made. He has said he will stick it out until after his holiday and then see what pan's out! He dosent like to make a fuss over anything but he is just soooooooooo tired and grumpy I hope it sorts itself out for the best soon. Txxx

I like fallibles idea of the holiday and since you have one booked even better. except i wouldn't leave a list of things to do. the other men should know what they are doing and if they dont they wil soon realise they need your super hubbie
