So do you guys have different shift patterns up there then? Dad does 7-5 x 2, 1 - 10 x 2, nights or evenings x 2 then 4 days off.

depends where you are. we do 7 9-6s thne 4 off then 7 1800-0300 3 off

our Chief Constable wants to introduce the 2x2x2 and if we disagree we go to 7 days of 7-3 2 days off, 7 days of 3-11, 2 days off and 7 nightshift 3 days off which is the worst possible shift health wise so he has us over a barrell- do what I want or I shall shaft you proper!! wont affect e for the next 5 years but still......

My dad used to do your shift pattern with the nights - well ok 6 - 2, 2 - 10, 10 - 6 kinda things with the odd random shift thrown in, but they changed it oh about 7 or 8 years ago now and my dad reckons that the forward rotation is good, it helps with the routine, mainly when youre on nights.

Hes in the control room now, but i reckon hed quite like the 9 - 5 job if given the chance for it! ;D

just having a nightmare week. My cats missing (see my other post) I have a stinking cold. It's Monday tomorrow and that means back to the grind of another dull day in a job I hate! Sorry I'm feeling very sorry for my self! Though I could not help but laugh aloud at this post so thanks guys for cheering me up some. *pulls that duvet over head and sinks into contented slumber*

ahh, you poor thing! my cat went missing when she was a kitten for 7 days. thought she had been run over or summat. came home from work and she was fast asleep on the sofa. little minx. had her mummy worried sick about her!

i think i will forget to go to work too! i only work 2 days at the moment and i really cant stand going for them! i hate my job with a vengeance! we will hide in the hole and they wont know where to look ;D
