There is this woman up at the yard and I just want to throttle her! She is a spoilt bratty b*tch! 40 years old and acts like a 15 year old school bully! She thinks she is the bes thing since sliced bread and her horses are better than eveyone elses! the bog standard lifeless mare (has a wonderful personality till mum gets there), the lamanitic childs pony that gets grazed on knee high grass and dumps the kids, and the perfect little one (only because she only bought him recently). 1. She has bullied and tormented 4 people off the yard because they wouldn't back down from her. 2. she has said that she is the only one who knows how to look after a horse (see previous lami statement? ?) as we shouldn't leave our horses out 24/7 esp in winter 3. she turns her nose up at bernie, thinks he is common. and even commented "oh dear y does my pony want to make friends with him?" Excuse me bernie is 10 time the horse any of yours are so swivle! and when i hog him "oh that makes him look a little better" 4. has a go at anyone who doesn't do things her way. my opinion is that she has this horse book published in about 1630 and if it isn't written in there it is wrong! she thinks all horses should have shoes and rugs and be fed up to the eyeballs, any type of natural horsemanship is rediculous (ok not everyone is into it but don't tell a 13yo girl who loves it she is stupid for beliving such rubbish?!) 5. Lauren told me the other day that she has been going home in tears because of this woman!!!! i hit the roof! basically the woman's kids have been asking lauren to ride out with them, they are already grooming so lauren runs up to the field to grab bernie and by the time she is back the mum has tacked up all the horses and snuck out the other end of the yard!!!!!!! So i confronted her "do you have a problem with lauren?" (not nastily, i genuinely want to know whats going on, not start a fight) and she goes into one, i stay calm so it can't escalate. then yesterday she come's over to me "did you find out what i apparently did as i am very hurt" VERY HURT? VERY HURT? YOU HAVE SENT A 13YO GIRL HOME IN TEARS BECAISE YOU ARE A bitch AND YOU ARE HURT? I'LL SHOW YOU HURT!!!!!!!! I REALLY WANNA JUST SWING FOR HER BECAUSE NOW IT IS OUT IN THE OPEN SHE IS PATHETIC ENOUGH TO MAKE LAURENS TIME HARDER AND IF LAUREN LEAVES THAT INVOLVES MY HORSES WELFARE! oops that wasn't supposed to be caps but aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh needed to get that out, now i need a f*g

Ha ha ha ha. Maxi that made me giggle (although surely the police woman in you isn't allowed to do that???)
Becca, she's b*tch. I'm afraid there's one everywhere you go, no matter whether its horsey or not (although the biggest b*tches I've ever met were 'horsey') so I'm afraid there's not much to be said. It is definitely wrong to make Lauren cry, and to insult Bernie or the way you two look after him is just stupid! CLEARLY he's fine, happy and healthy (oh, is this that woman who said Bernie was foot sore when really he could harldy walk???) and I'm guessing that her horses are skinny TB types that need rugs on because they're so skinny you can see their ribs from a mile off, she's clipped them out so they need atleast a MW on in the warmest of sunshine, and the shoes hold their bl**dy feet together! ARGH! I hate people like this. Is there a yard owner or someone in charge who you could speak to. Either that or just PROVE how much better your way of doing things is (that's what we're having to do because although theres only one person on my yard who is stupid enough to belive that there's only one way of doing things, and if its not her way then its cr@p basically, everyone else will see my point of view and see how well our methods work, but you can tell by there face that they think I'm talking out of my bottom. Bitless bridle - "oh I don't like those" - You've never chuffin' tried one! AND the Dr Cooks one doesn't hurt the horse one bit, so you can hardly call them cruel! ARGH! AND WHY SHOULD I CARRY A WHIP EVERYWHERE I GO? OR HAVE TO USE A BRIDLE TO BRING MY HORSE IN? OR LURE HER IN WITH HANDFULS OF CARROTS AND BREAD (bread of all things...me thinks those poor ponios will be getting colic!) OMG some people are so stupid! GRRRR! Oh and another thing, hairy is good! I'm not hogging my horse because then she'll look like a cow (wait a minute, that's what yours looks like)!
On the plus side, treeless saddles are becoming acceptable on my yard (only because mine looks like a tradional one, and looks waaaaaay better than some of their £800-1000 hand made leather ones!).
Sorry for stealing your post Becca - hope she gets what's coming to her (stupid woman!). And if by any chance I insulted anyone with a TB or TB type then I'm sorry. Didn't mean to. Just an annoying stereotype that has gone tooooooo faaaaaarrrrr!

Theres one on every yard! I'm off soon to offer my friend "moral support" to move her horse from the yard I moved from earlier in the year. The YO is, in my opinion, a deranged psychopath. Last night she accosted Nic, called her names and told her to get her horse off the yard immediately or she'll tie it to a tree on the main road! What did Nic do to deserve this? Left a pile of poop outside her stable for an hour or so (serious crime) and handed her notice in last week. She was due to move her horse on Saturday but has now had to take time off work to do it today so that no harm comes to her horse or belongings! Not looking forward to seeing the b***h again but if she starts or locks us on the yard I will film her and ring the police. Video evidence would be funny - will post it on here if I have to resort to filming her! Zx

your right Zara there is one on every yard, the one on my old yard drove at least a dozen people away in the 2 years I was there, if in the school with her she would aim her horse at yours so you had to get out of her way, her horse was the most miserable, biting kicking mare I have ever met (bit like her owner really). I kept doing what I was doing with Fig, put the work into him and then consistently kept coming in the top 4 places in whatever we decided to do, be it jump, dressage or show. She eventually backed down and decided my little cob was a start, which is something I had known from the start.

Becca yep everyone is right - there is one on every yard. I have one on the yard I am on who - though not nasty - thinks she knows it all and is actually quite dangerous as she has strange ideas and very little knowledge. Though easy to say distance yourself from her. Ignore anything she says about your lovely horse( often find that such comments like hers stems from jealousy anyway.) Bulliues are nasty people so please please give young Lauren a hug from me and telll her to hold her head up high and keep a smile on her face when that woman is around - trust me it will so infuriate that woman. Makes my blood boil to think a young girl is crying due to her when she should be going home smling after spending time with her horse grrrrrrr Keep smiling Becca big hug to you as well as lauren x

ta babymare made my blood boil too, luckily lauren hasn't been put off and would still ride everyday if she could.
and i agree there is one on every yard, wouldn't be funny to ship them all off to one big yard and leave them to fight to the death, ok not the death but you know what i mean.
spotti no its not the woman who said he was footsore, that is flos owner (bernie's girlfriend in the rolling pic) she is lovely and very knowledgeable, he really was only footsore that night she saw him. She has a 16hh odd erm, riding horse, spose she is tbx ish, very marish. the ponies are natives but heaven forbidd they went out with out a rug haha
another funny thing was when bernie was off work cos i was saving up for my treeless her kids used to come up to me and say things like "why do you never ride?" "how comes you never come and see bernie?" and it was blatantly because their mum had been talking about me!.(i never used to get up to the yard till about 7pm cos i worked so far away so never saw anyone but still went every day)
i used to try keep the peace but just staying out of the fights she picked with everyone but now everyone who stood up to her has left i'm not gonna roll over anymore.
as for the ym (who never comes to our yard as she runs the livery at the bottom of the hill) she has only just found out after all these years what she is like but probably wont take it to seriously unfortunately. we are supposed to be having regular yard meetings though, might find out when the next one is

Thats the best thing to do, vent it all out on here where almost everyone can relate! Myself included!
We should all start a Paddocks charity fund so we can buy a nice bit of land to keep all our donkeys on together, there would be no arguing done then! (or much work as we'd all be chatting all the time lol) Or I actually do like your idea Becca, we should all ship the b*itches off together! I know of a few I would donate!

Becca, sorry this is a long reply but bullies get my goat! The others are all so right - there is one on every yard and the only way to deal with bullies is to not let them see they're getting to you. That's how I deal with them (got a couple at work and have to deal with them daily)I know it's harder when it affects someone you feel you need to stick up for, rather than yourself but even if I burst a blood vessel, it's worth it when you can get the better of them. She's obviously jealous of you and sneeking off without Lauren just tells me that Lauren rides better than her kids. Be proud of that and tell Lauren.
She knows everything about horses - she's just one of thousands who have never, EVER, been novices! Oh, to be born with absolute knowledge on all things equestrian! (How do they find hats big enough?)
Remember, some people can only feel good if they make others feel bad so maybe you should feel sorry for her. And when she makes comments like "oh that makes him look a lot better" just smile and say "Thank you. We know he's georgous but it's nice when others think so too" She will know that if she makes any further comments in reply then she'll look really bad in front of everyone. Similarly, when she says "why does my pony want to make friends with him" say "because he's the best, of course!" When she picks people up on not doing things her way, laugh out loud and say "Oooh! you're so old fashoined!" or "that went out with the ark". Better still, pretend you haven't heard properly and make her repeat what she's saying several times - she'll probably give up because it will make her look stupid.
Finally, do you have a notice board? If so, it may be of interest to everyone if you post some informative articles on laminitis on it.
If you do bitch slap her, do as maximum says and make sure no ones looking! Never give her any ammunition against you! I do hope you feel better now.

Sorry to hear about your yard problem's becca. She sounds like a complete and utter B***H!!! Glad you had a rant on here and got it off your chest. I wish there is something I could do to help apart from listen and tell you to rise above this woman but do tell her to F**K OFF for being a nasty witch to Lauren.

Helped my friend move her horse from "yard from hell" this pm, I was armed with camera and phone. Sadly the YO failed to make an entrance so there is no hillarious video footage When we got there however she had moved all of Nic's stuff, bagged up some rubbish for her to take and emptied her stable of all the very re-useable bedding! Nic's horse when last seen was in his new house happily munching on his hay Zx

aw good to hear her horse is in a nicer place now zara, and it's a shame about the video. If the bedding was reuseable i would send an bill to the yard owner stating that she was hoping to take the bedding with her to help her horse settle in his new stable then whack on the price of the bedding.
As for the woman at my yard I do feel sorry for her, she has been a bully all her life (found out she was her school bully!) and obviously very insecure.
last night Lauren said was helping this woman's kid catch their loose ponies while the yard b*tch was talking to her mum. I'm hoping lauren's mum gave her what for, but no doubt the YB turned on the charm.
maybe this can be the official rant about the YB page haha

Ohhh she sounds lovely. I think personally, you should arrange a yard meeting with everyone on the yard, tell them individually, but dont include the YB. You all need to get together, have a chat and think about the best plan together. No one should leave except her. Keep together as a yard, and dont let her come between you guys. If you all form a tight clique without her, hopefully she'll feel excluded and leave! ;D

I just wanna totally give up now. I was in tears last night cos of a verbal attack from one of the new women, she was screaming in my face while i was trying to talk to her. thing is this woman is the type you wouldnt want to mess with, plus her mum and sister have just moved up to the yard so they were all having a go at me. the short version is we missed about a barrow of poo when we cleared the field (we had done 16!!!) they moved into which they dumped in our field gateway (i even apologised for missing the few bits but there is very long grass in some sections) and they think we didn't put the electric fence back on after we split out field (we did) and apparently our horses terrorised theirs (we got no phone call to say this during the day??!!) My options Stay and see if things get better (YO advise when i rang her in tears was try work it out between yourselves!) Move not knowing if it will be better even though i love the yard, it is perfect for Bernie and we were there first (know is sounds petty but we were) i just don't even want to go up there the way things are

i'd stick it out for the time being. Give yourself say 3 months and if things are not better then, try looking for another yard, but in the meantime don't stoop to their level and don't call them to others on the yard, Best just keep out of their way for a couple of weeks till they have calmed down and then try making a kind comment to one of them about their horses etc or ask for their advice. (people like to be asked for advice). You are not letting them win. the best form of revenge is to be seen to be getting on and enjoying your life. Beliveve me. xx

you lot proberly wont like what im writting but its something i would do if you cant even stand to go up there , if you are not happy (then bernie will pick up this) then there is only one answere you time with your horse should always be special it should not be a chor you shouldnt have to feel like this you should be able to go to the yard when ever you want and have your time to do what ever you want without someone eles pushing there weight around you pay your money for your horse to live there what would you do if you had the same happening where you live ? i might be different but i rent 5 acres no stable no yard no running water no people to upset me i go up there in the morning and some days i spend 4-5 hours up there then i will go back up at 8pmish and stay there till 1030ish at night and i dont see anyone eles just peice and quite no one to tell me what i can and cant do i would go to a yard for all the resons that you and eveyone eles has said sorry i have gone on abit not very good with words but one thing bernie can stay with me any day he wants and the field next door to me has come up for rent theres about 12 aceas he would love it
